    Default Outdoor places to shoot?

Wife and I want to go shooting outdoors this weekend but I can't find any public outdoor ranges anywhere near us except for Cherry Creek and I'd really like to avoid something in the city. We live just west of DIA. We only have handguns and .22 rifles, nothing high powered. I've seen some private ranges on peoples' property on Google maps but I don't feel comfortable knocking on doors. Mostly we want to figure out what our .22 rifles like/don't like so we know what to buy if we find anything. We did go to a meetup in Bailey, but that place was a bit sketchy. What do you guys suggest?

Golden Gun Club in Watkins @ 22min per google.

Great Guns, and Colorado Rifle club are probably the next closest, but still about an hour away.
My EDC: Handcuffs, Bandana, and Ball Gag.

If I'm ever at a party and the cops come to arrest people. Ill blindfold myself, throw the ball gag in, handcuff my hands, and hide in a closet. Police never arrest hostages!

CRC and GGC are both members only it looks like, and Great Guns is an hour and a half according to Google. Just crazy that in Colorado there's barely anywhere to shoot outdoors. We moved here only a few years ago and don't know anyone who shoots at a members only club and they're all waitlisted till at least 2015. Craziness.

Unfortunately none of those are public ranges.

CRC (colorado rifle club) is a member only range but they have no waiting list and are accepting new members every month. It's a little bit of a drive but great facility and hardly ever any one out there. If you want to start shooting more you should really look at joining them. Dues cheap as well. I know this doesn't help you for this week end but it could be worth looking into. I live in Broomfield and can make it out there in an hour and 15 min, so it shouldn't be but 45 min or so for you.
