    Default Truing Eley BC's

I was out with Zach O yesterday shooting Eley Target out to 300. We found my dope as generated by Ballistic AE to be off by quite a bit.

We recorded the corrections and I ran the numbers again.

    The advertised BC is .15.

I had to use a BC of .25 to match the field data.

Before you ask, velocity was measured with two chronos, a Shooting Chrony and a Magnetospeed with good agreement.

Anyone else having to true their BC's?

If you ever used Strelok app, I find that you must true it or you won't get correct readings.

    I dont even use chronographs.

I just get a solid zero at 50 and see what it takes for come-ups at 75, 100, 150 and 200.

Than I play with MV and BC numbers to get everything to line up.

Went out again yesterday. Early on, my original dope was right on. As the day progressed both I and another shooter started hitting consistently high again. The changes were big, so it wasn't DA.

We had a tail wind and were shooting uphill into a little valley when we were hitting high. I'm calling it vertical wind and leaving it at that.

Those little .22 bullets get blown around by mouse farts.
