    Something seems weird, if they were going to close the doors, fine that is their prerogative, why'd they need to show a police presence.

    Same reason we use our security personnel to escort out individuals who've been fired - to ensure they only take personal possessions and no company owned property and to ensure no vandalism/sabotage occurs to company property. People can be unpredictable when they suddenly find they're out of a job.
