    Default Gun case advise

Looking for a good hard case, min would be 50 inches or so and probably 3-15 tall. What are you guys using for your long guns with big scopes. Thanks

Pelican 1700 and 1750 are the goto if you have money into what you are shooting IMO. Go cheap and you will pay anyways.

    Storm case with wheels.

I've got a guide series case from Gander mountain for just kicking around the truck, If I need to fly, I have an SKB that's lockable many times over and has wheels on one end. I'd recommend the SKB, Pelican, or Storm if you expect either weather or flying with it.

If you are doing any traveling I recommend the SKB, or pelican. I haven't flown with my Pelican but my four gun SKB is headed back to Alaska for the third time this fall and it has accompanied my dad to Africa as well as a few other destinations. Everything inside always arrives just as I packed it.

I just got my pelican 1750 a couple weeks ago from eBay for around $200 shipped. It's worth every penny already! Has proven to keep my firearms dry, safe and shooting straight after taking them camping on some pretty rough trails through the rain.

I just got my Pelican 1750 on Tuesday, haven't really had much time to play with it but it is just like every other Pelican case I've owned or used, extremely sturdy, solid latches, waterproof and a great deal if you have good money invested. I purchased some closed cell polyethylene foam from foambymail.com (this stuff: http://www.foambymail.com/PE2-_1/pol...ets-2-2lb.html in 1" and 2" charcoal) and plan to replace the factory open cell foam that retains moisture with it. The PE foam is more expensive, but its also more rigid and really holds its shape well when you cut thin walls (unlike open cell foam that flexes and warps and looks cheap).
