Default National Forest and Grasslands Target Shooting

Just curious if anyone has any nice spots they have found not far (30-45min) from the Littleton area to shoot? I have seen a few on the National Forest website but all of the "free designated spots" seem to be over an hour away.

In general, recreational shooting is allowed on most National Forest System lands. However, discharging a firearm is always prohibited within 150 yards of a residence, building, campsite, developed recreation site, a cave, across or on a road or a body of water, or in any manner or place whereby any person or property is exposed to injury or damage (36 CFR 261.10(d).

The whole national forest system is a range with some minor exceptions.

Ya, be sure to never shoot near a cave.

From what I've seen there's not anything that close that's open to shooting. Rampart Range is entirely closed to shooting of any kind. Harris Park is about an hour away, it's just this side of Bailey. Nice, big area to shoot.
