    Default 1911-22

Picked up a sig 1911-22 last week. Shoots great, put about 100 rounds down the pipe; no malfunctions. Got home and noticed the hammer had a defect or some sort of gouge in it. To be honest, it may have been there when I bought it.

I called Sig, the guy on the phone says, "I'm holding one in my hand right now and it has the same gouge. Thats normal". He had me email a picture just to verify with a gun smith. A day later he emails back stating that according to the gun smith, it is indeed normal.

Is this Metal Injection Molding? I'm not too concerned, but was wondering if any of you have the same cosmetic defect?

    Yup, MIM part.

    Same injection mark on mine.

In case you didn't already know, these are made for Sig by GSG. Lotsa parts swap.

Also, if you get tired of the worn paint on the slide, I had a friend Cerakote mine and it came out superb and even runs better.

My GSG 1911 that I bought 3 years ago has the same mark on the hammer.

For What It's Worth- The mag safety could be removed (and reinstalled) in a couple minutes if someone were so inclined. Not that I'm advocating doing anything unsafe.

Yeah, forgot to mention that. Mine fell out or something.

Seems all the Sig 22's have a problem with the mag safety, my Mosquito seems to be missing as well.

THE Walther/Colt seems to have improved on the Sig.

Yeah. I've noticed my mag safety is somewhat loose as well. And yes the finish is sub-par and Cerakote will take care of that issue. I really do enjoy this gun though

Checked brownells for a replacement pin, negative results. Anyone have one for sale or know where to locate one?
