    Default Cornhole Boards

One of my buddies made his own cornhole boards, and I thought, hell, I can do that. So I did. Or started to anyway.

    First step, watch this video:

Next, visit this website to get an idea of how to build cornhole boards: http://www.cornholehowto.com/build-t...ds/dimensions/

Next, gather supplies and cut the 2x4s to length. I bought 2x 2'x4'x1/2" birch plywood boards and 2x 2"x4"s. I had the rest of the wood needed. I also needed to buy the 6" holesaw.

Next, cut your hole. The hole should be centered width wise and 9" from the top of the board.

Make sure the frame fits like it should. I used pocket holes for mine instead of screwing in from the top. I also used glue.

    Looks good so far.

Now would be a good time to take a break and talk about attention to detail. The screws I used to attach the frame to the top were 1 1/2" screws, the screws I used to attached the long sides of the frame to the short sides were 2" screws. I think you can see where this is going. Long story short, I screwed my cornhole board to my work table. If you decide to make your own, don't do that.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

Looks nice, how are you planning on painting it?

    FIFY.

    Also, did you get splinters?

Next, drill a hole for the bolt that holds the legs. I found this to be difficult to get perfectly centered. But I just wallowed out my hole a little and got my legs to tuck flat in the boards.

Next, trace where you're going to round over the top of the legs:

Rough cut with the jigsaw (how'd those toes get in there?):

Then I cleaned them up with the bench sander.

Prop the board up somehow to get the top of the board to be 12" tall and hang one leg over the edge of your worktable.

Then draw a line on your leg so you know what angle to cut it at. It should be around 45*, I think mine were 42*.

Cut your legs and attach. Now you have cornhole boards!!!

    Hahaha, oops. I fixed it.

I am planning on making Avalanche / CO flag boards. Basically, imagine the flag but with burgundy and white stripes. The "C" will be around the hole and will be blue. Towards the bottom, I bought a couple of 16"x13" decals. Then I'll cover everything with poly until its smooth.

    These are the decals:

ETA: I also ordered burgundy and blue cornhole bags.

Looking good. Just finished mine other than the design. I'm going with hunting theme and stained wood.

I looked into this last year when it came up for the company work party. They said no one had any and I thought, "Hell I could make that." Then I thought, "I could make a bunch, paint them pretty, and sell them on Craigslist!!!" Then I checked Craigslist and saw that 50 other people had that same idea and actually did it. Saturated market. Looks good!

I'm a fan of the game with 2 golf balls tied together and thrown at a PVC ladder-type thingy. The more beer consumed, the better it gets.
