One of my buddies made his own cornhole boards, and I thought, hell, I can do that. So I did. Or started to anyway.
First step, watch this video:
Next, visit this website to get an idea of how to build cornhole boards: http://www.cornholehowto.com/build-t...ds/dimensions/
Next, gather supplies and cut the 2x4s to length. I bought 2x 2'x4'x1/2" birch plywood boards and 2x 2"x4"s. I had the rest of the wood needed. I also needed to buy the 6" holesaw.
Next, cut your hole. The hole should be centered width wise and 9" from the top of the board.
Make sure the frame fits like it should. I used pocket holes for mine instead of screwing in from the top. I also used glue.
Looks good so far.
Now would be a good time to take a break and talk about attention to detail. The screws I used to attach the frame to the top were 1 1/2" screws, the screws I used to attached the long sides of the frame to the short sides were 2" screws. I think you can see where this is going. Long story short, I screwed my cornhole board to my work table. If you decide to make your own, don't do that.
