I've done cap replacements on TVs before, and it's not a terrible job, if you're a competent solderer who's not afraid to tinker with electronics. Given what such a fix would cost you at a repair shop, it's probably worth just buying a new TV if you're not willing and able to research the repair and do it yourself.
