Was up the last couple days. Got within 20 yards of a bull in super thick timber late in the evening, could smell him, hear him breath, hear him move...but couldn't see him. Wind shifted and he slowly worked his way out of there. Not a single bugle, except for this morning, a muzzleloader from out of state dropped in below me at dark and bugled, I just used it to my advantage and figured if he got a response I would sneak in and catch a bull off guard if one bugled, but no luck , when It got light enough and hot enough where I figured any elk were moved from the area, I called the guy almost in, then disappeared!
And I've had it with fugn cats...was heating up chili on the fire last night, had my lantern going, and my headlamp on. I always look around a little bit at dark because bears have come through camp before, well this time a lion was about 100 yards off coming down a game trail near the dirt road I parked off of. I lit his ass up with my ultra bright Cree and had my G26 drawn and started heading his/her way. It quickly did a 180 and was not seen again, but I still got on my quad and went up and down the road spotlighting for it.
im about ready to get some dogs and I'm gonna kill as many of these things as I can.
