    Default Mountain lion hunting

Does anyone hunt mountain lions here in Colorado? Easy/hard compared to deer/elk? Best areas to hunt?

Hardest hunt you'll ever do. Try western Colorado if your serious.

for best success, hunting behind a well known houndsman will be your best bet. They are elusive for sure. They can be called in as well, can't use electronic calls in Colo., hand calls only. I've got 2 buddies that have actually had mtn. lion show up while calling elk during archery season. So they will come to calling.
Compared to deer and elk, I'd say deer/elk are a 3 on a scale of 1-10 for difficulty, and mtn. lion closer to 8 just because they are hard to find. Heck, even with hounds the hunt will not be easy. Hounds might track one down, but then just getting yourself to the treed lion will be a work out.

The above is true. If you really want a cat, plan on years and years of failure and lots of sitting around with nothing happening. Or invest in a guy with dogs. Plan on being on call or spending some weird hours looking for tracks. When fresh snow falls, he drives roads for hours finding the right tracks of a decent cat, usually done around 1-3 in the am when the cats are moving, if they find something good they let the dogs out and the chase is on, which could be for miles and miles. Then when they get the cat treed you have to get there which can be extremely challenging. Then decide if it is a quality cat or not and take your shot or leave it be.

Strap a steak to your pack and go hunting... Keep your eyes peeled. Remember it was coming right for you

I would vote this most successful method in least amount of time.

If you want a big cat, invite it over for dinner.

The easy way to catch a big cat is with the neighbors small cat.
