Big first step: I just bought my first hunting camo!
Just got back from bass pro and picked up some real tree camo for turkey hunting this weekend. I'm excited!
this is a huge first step for me... I've never actually been hunting before. I've shot lots of rodents and critters, but never been on a real hunting trip.

Bleh. Gag me. It doesn't freakin matter. Some of the most successful(record holding deer) wear mismatched half faded camo from 10 years ago.Originally Posted by mcantar18c
Agree, I know someone who just bought some of that Sitka stuff. I would need to mortgage my house to afford it. I have killed lots of elk and deer wearing my old Carharts, or camo from Walmart. I have a hard time ruining nice stuff in the field. I am also cheap.

Thats because the animals are colorblind. Or else deer and elk hunters wouldn't wear blaze orange. Turkeys can actually see color and movement very well.
Be prepared to get skunked. This is Colorado, there are few places here where Turkey are abundant. Honestly there are not a lot of huntable birds (compared to other states) in this state. Good luck, where are you going to be hunting?
