    I've even seen those in King Sooper lately... I was wondering if they were worth trying out.

    Outside of ease of cooking, They beat frozen hands down. Easier to store, no refrigeration necessary means less to worry about. Longer shelf life, IMO better tasting. We're not fresh potato eaters. The occasional use in stews, holidays is about it. Jerry mentioned easier to cook than the diced ones.

    Did you catch how far out the expiration date is?

    Unfortunately in this case, my bulk club membership is Sam's.

    Hm is that normal? I guess I had expected a several year expiration date at least.

    I think it is in the packaging. Coated paper really can't be all that air tight. Plus "expiration dates" really are guidelines instead of rules.
