I try to keep as much stock as possible as 1) only a few parts have actually helped me shoot better and 2) so I can pick up ANY Glock out there and shoot it well. I don't always get to use my personal Glocks and have to use what's issued so being able to shoot stock ones well is a necessity. I've seen people with custom triggers & such have a problem when going back to stock (Glocks and ARs) because they are so used to the short takeup and travel on their gun that they "skip" when shooting a normal trigger (meaning they don't go to full reset all the time and miss a trigger pull). For this reason the only internal work I do is put in a Glock 3.5 lb trigger connector (I know, they don't make them anymore). Lighter trigger weight has not helped me shoot better at anything other than bulls eyes and if I'm attacked by a paper bulls eye target then I'll eat my words. Shooting defensively, I have not been any faster or less accurate with a lighter trigger. I use the 3.5 lb connector because it is easier on me on long range days. I don't change the slide lock (it's not a slide release) or the mag release as I want to keep interior profiles low for carry and to maintain commonality with every other Glock out there. I also change out sights to a fiber optic front and a flat black rear, both steel, as that does help me with front sight focus and allow me to get faster 1st rounds on target. The fiber optic front still gives me a good sight picture in low light conditions as well utilizing the metal outside of the sight post.

I've had one of my personal G19s modified last year and so far I'm impressed with it. The finger groves were taken off, undercut the trigger guard and the grip stippled fairly aggressively. I've shot a few thousand rounds through it since and I like the mods a lot. The stippling does well in wet & muddy conditions, with or without gloves on. Without gloves, the stippling does get a bit abrasive on the hands but then I remember I have a pair of balls and I don't anticipate getting into a multi-hundred round gunfight with my G19. The undercut trigger guard does feel a bit nicer than stock as it allows a nice high grip. I wish Glock did this to all their models.

Of course, it doesn't really matter if it is or not. If you say, "No, that's just what I want." is perfectly acceptable. I was just curious.

Ahh, the Lemans of gunfighting. You hear a lot about those at the gun store counter.

Hey guys, sorry for the late response, I've been working and just got off. What I meant by dremel the trigger guard was that I dremeled the undercut and then I also dremeled under the trigger guard where my support hand fingers would sit. My glock 23 is my EDC gun and I'm not looking to do anything too crazy to it, mainly just new sights, and a new trigger or connector and extended mag release. I still want to mess around with some of the options there. My glock 35 is a totally different story, I'm wanting to use that for a competition gun. So for that I was wanting to do a Zev magwell, new trigger, sights, new slide that has been milled for an RMR and an extended mag release and I think that's about it for the 35.

I understand where you guys are coming from about keeping the gun stock so that I'm always use to shooting a stock glock so that I'll always be familiar with other glocks. Neither of my glocks are new to me, I've put thousands of rounds through each one and I'm just now wanting to experiment and mess with them. I have done all the work myself to them and I've loved doing it so far. I will post a picture of my 23 so that you can see what I've done so far to it. The only thing that I've done to the 35 is stipple the grip and dremel the undercut.

No worries. We all have our favorites, and I wouldn't begrudge anyone theirs.

I know man, my brother busts my balls all the time for owning glocks. To each his own. As long as you're happy with your gun, that's all that matters in my books haha

This quote came up on Facebook this morning and I thought it was relevant to our conversation. It was in the context of out running your headlights.

"As it was explained to me 20 years ago when I would follow Larry (Vickers) to IPSC matches with other unit shooters, “You learn to shoot the gun you have and as you outperform your starter gun, you replace pieces with tricked out/high end parts to shave a second here and there”."

If you want to check out the Vickers extended slide release / mag release I have them on my Gen4 Glocks. I'm in Windsor just send me a PM.
