There are, in addition, 922(r) issues with the EAA imports - you'd need to swap out a lot of parts to be able to make it accept double stack mags legally.

Good comments, I just got another Yugo M70B1 instead. The compliance factor is something to consider on the PAP as you mention which is waht swayed me away. Nobody is pooping on my initial thoughts. In fact the comments expressed here are very valuable. Money doesnt grow on trees, and sometimes some well thought thoughts and observations from fellow members can be very valuable in evaluating a purchase. There also was not to much out on the net about the PAP as well. Since I already own a Yugo I decided to get another. I am paying about $150 more than I did 2 years ago for the Yugos M70B1 and the underfolder(Aims was selling them in 2006 for $419). I recall this January this year that the Yugos were going for a grand or more. Thankfully they can be had at $585-700 now still higher than the $419.

If memory serves, the PAP is a yugo, also. But if I had the choice, I'd go the way you are. How well a shooter an ak is is more important to me than an oddity.
On the other hand, I really like the EAA pistols. I have an older baby eagle (.40) that was manufactured by tangfoglio then assembled by IMI. And the witness, imho is still one of the best bangs for the busk ever.

I have a couple of Yugos and love em. Knowing the PAP was a Yugo was why I was interested. However the only things I have had to do with the B1s is refinish the stocks and handguards or fix a slightly canted sight. The underfolders are perfect. The PAP is nice but I would have to alot of other things as circuits mentioned to get where I want be. Probably cost more than what I spent on any B1.

I also got two of the old Baby Eagles (9mm and 45), and would never get rid of them because like you said they are great shooters (IMI). I sold a spare 45 baby eagle 2 years ago on here and kick myself everyday for doing it. Wish I could have that one back.

In the end if I had bunch of money to blow I get the PAP for the collection but right now that woud be a luxury when I have other needs. Not slaming the PAP and respect whoever is importing these right now because they look like a good alternate to other single stack options out there.

Ya, I wouldn't trade my Beagle for nuthin'.......
I still can't remember where I saw the ad. They were a little over 500. Maybe 515. FTF has the front end assemblies for 89 bucks, though. Might get a few of those. I'll look again later today when I feel better. Centerfire has some romy g kits for pretty cheap, but they look to be in not that great of shape. I was thinking it was classic arms, but when I went there they didn't have them. Although they do have the saigas and the tantals for cheap as hell. Or at least a lot cheaper than I've seen in about a year. I want a bulgy 74. Probably my next toy.
    Good luck!

You may be interested in this deal. I recently got one of these Bulgys at Peach State Guns http://shop.peachstateguns.com/produ...&productId=619

Pretty good deal considering AIMS was selling them for $699 2 weeks ago where they sold out in one day. GB auctions are about 100-200 more. Nice deal out there. Classic Arms I bet wont put out anything new this whole summer since there inventory is sort of full. They do have some great deals on like the GP75 for example. The only AK 74s I have seen them sell in the last 2 years was the Century Tantals (which thankfully did have the correct barrels).
