Default New lever instead, well almost lol

I didn't get the HK/Walther MP5 clone I asked about as my buddy changed his mind on selling. What I am getting instead is a cool little Henry, it's called the Small Game Carbine-16" octagon barrel, large loop, Skinner peep sight-it was love at first sight LOL. I put it on layaway last weekend and WAS going to pick it up this Saturday but due to the unexpected furnace repair Tuesday I may have to wait a couple of weeks. Can't wait to get it. Eventually it'll go to my grandson (he's only 16 months so it'll be a bit ahahahaa).

Nice choice. Hopefully you didn't pay MSRP. I have the Large Loop w/out that sight, looks like a nice addition to a smooth shooting, accurate plinker. Been thinking about one of their 22 mag units. Thread bbl and suppress it

Good choice! I love my Henry Golden Boy. It's just so darn pretty I'm afraid to take it out. Almost. Smoooth action, and very accurate. Peep sights would be nice, though. Hmmm.

The Golden Boy barrel is drilled and tapped under the rear sight. Henry sells a cantilever scope rail for it. I wonder if you could put a peep sight there instead. It's probably too far forward though.

Interesting...maybe a peep sight would attach to the drilled and tapped thingy...I'll have to look into that. I'm having trouble considering a scope on that rifle. Kind of like my Marlin Original Golden, it has a Williams target rear sight on it, that seems to do the trick.

Maybe I just need to get a 10-22 and slap a scope on it to satiate my needs. No sacrilege there, right?

I have a Marlin 39M that's a lot of fun. It was set up with a scope on a cantilever mount when I got it, so I'm kind of used to that although I've been giving some thought to removing the scope and outfitting it with some decent iron sights. Just seems to me like what a lever gun ought to have!

I have a Marlin 39, too, with an old Lyman peep on it. Awesome pinker and small game getter.
