He said it and the people in his district elected him. Furthermore, the outspoken LGBT community says and does plenty of things I find offensive...like forcing a business owner to violate his personal moral code to please them. Well there's a conflation here, right? You can say anything you want. But that doesn't necessarily shield you from the social censure of others, right? Its the same mistake gay activists (gactivists?) are making with the whole forcing cake baking and marriage ceremonies and so forth.
