    You need an upgrade. Most of the new ones, even mine from 3 years ago when I bought this house, use rolling codes. If your garage door opens to other peoples remotes, that's not acceptable.

    It has never happened to me personally. Working as a police officer I have investigated numerous suspicious occurrences where this was the case. I am mainly wanting an extra layer of security and peace of mind in the event something gets forgotten or I end up inside the house for a few minutes or longer by accident.
