Melonite 1911 Barrel

Anybody have any experience with a melonited pistol barrel? I think the look is mainly what I'm after, not too concerned with barrel life on a 45 since they live just about forever.

Shouldn't be much different than a barrel on an XD, M&P, or maybe a Glock. I think some of them are melonited.

I've had three 1911 barrels melonited and prefer it to Black-T, but the Birdsong folks (Black-T) would definitely be my very close second choice.
