Probably something with soles made out of rubber used on Toyota trucks.

It will be a PITA to get the electrical ran into your existing fireplace to run this and keep it concealed & neat.
Get one of those roll around units with the genuine Amish wood cabinet.
My T.P. wheeling and dealing feedback is here.

Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one, and it stinks more than mine.

It's not actually going in a fireplace. It's gonna be in the bottom of a built in wall shelf. Power is already there, clearance and airspace is also accounted for. The math is all there, just wondered if anyone had experience with this or a similar unit, performance wise or reliability. Ordered it today so I guess now we'll wait and see

I have a TV stand in my bedroom with one of these in it and we really like it. There was no way to put any real fireplace in and it at least has a little bit of ambiance with the heat it puts out.

We've been looking at one built in to a cabinet or one that mounts on the wall much like a tv, for a lil ambiance in our master bedroom from heatnglo. The simplifire wall mounts look cool...

I just got an infrared heater from the Oreck dealer in Thornton. It's the heat smart Liberty infrared heater. Cost was $235.
Not much for ambiance but does the job !

So I got this delivered the other day.

    http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...6245_200636245

I can say that I'm very impressed. Heats the room quickly, About 10 degrees in 20-30 minutes. Well built, flame effect has several settings, can be used flame alone, heat alone, or both. Fit inside of the space I had for it nicely. So I'm happy so far.
