    Default Electrical problem!

I have a light that is on, but the switch is off. Is this something I need to address tonight, or can it wait till the morning? Switch on or off doesn't matter, light stays on. This is an outside light. I have another light on the inside that is acting up as well. Looks like I'll be busy tomorrow.

I'd go reset the breaker and see if that doesn't anything although I'm guessing it's in the switch itself. If you are worried just turn off the breaker if nothing else on that breaker is of big importance like freezer/fridge etc.

i wouldn't even consider myself anything remotely electrically proficient, even if I were to stay in a holiday inn express last night. So take it for what it's worth!
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

I hear you, my grandfather was electrocuted when I was a kid and I've always been afraid of electricity, of course, he was strapped to a chair and his head was shaved so he couldn't do much about it.

I've gotten a lot of responses about the switch. That's what my guess as well. I can handle a switch no problem. Just want to make sure my house isn't going to burn down while I sleep. I'm not sure what's on that particular breaker to be honest.

As already said: if you're worried about safety, flip the breaker off. Sounds like a bad switch to me, but I'm not sure how common that is.

When they stab the wires in instead of wrap them around a screw it's really common.

Are you sure you are looking at your porch light and not the moon? Just saying....
