Default Frozen faucet, will this work?

Faucet had a icicle waterfall. Never noticed it dripping during warm weather. No hose attached. Is a frost free with vacuum breaker cap thing on it. Went in crawlspace, no valve to it.... (One in front yard does).

First day, pipe in crawlspace was just cool. tonight the pipe is pretty cold. Not like painfully icy, but not good to see a big increase in coldness.

Until I can get someone to come mess with it (Anyone in my area guys?), would wrapping the pipe in a heating pad stave off it freezing and bursting? Copper pipe leads to plastic piping. (At my old hospital I knew of a door hatch that had electric heating cord we had to leave open and plugged in every winter around some pipes.)

It would be best to open the faucet and let it melt itself by flowing. and then close it properly. If you heat it, keep an eye on it as they usually burst after melting. The freeze breaks the pipe, but the ice doesn't let it leak until it thaws. Usually if there's water flowing out of the faucet, the pipe behind isn't frozen.

Originally the pipe mouth was solid ice after I broke the icicle off. Tonight checking it, it was free of ice. Was tightening it and was already super tight. Experimented and turned it on, got water fine. Re tightened.

Will get insulated box, for now have a low wattage small terrarium type heat pad on it just in case with coming uber cold.

IF you use the heat tape DO NOT criss cross / place the heater tape over it self.
