Default I've got to get a Shield

I've become completely thrilled with the M&P line, have complete confidence in my full size-it's accurate, feels great, 100% reliable. I had a Compact, sold and moved to the FS.

My older son just got a 9mm Shield (no safety) through the killer deal Quantico Tactical offers military/first responders-$309 shipped plus the transfer fee at Rapid Fire ($25). Last weekend we met at the range and I became completely enamored of it. It shot great, 100% reliable regardless of what ammo I used, nice trigger/reset for self defense purposes. When I get my tax refund I'll be hunting one down-will be a great carry piece when it's t-shirt weather again (will replace my lightweight J frames).

    Just sayin.

They are pretty awesome carry guns. I never wanted one until they came out without the thumb safety.

Ark Tactical has one or two.

I test drove a friend's as a loaner gun last time I was in town. It was definitely extremely comfortable to carry around, and took hardly any effort to move around in a relatively restrictive NPE with it. The fact that they're available without thumb safeties makes them more reasonable as well, IMO.
I just can't get over having a single stack. Maybe for a BUG, but the round capacity takes it out of consideration for a primary carry gun.
