This is the first time I've heard of this, so want to say "Thanks!"
Very cool stuff. I know I need to work on my situational awareness. One of the other things that I think should be taken care of before entering a mall or amusement park or any place along those lines is to make certain the child knows that if I say, "This is no joke," they know they'd better listen and obey. I've had situations when I was younger and babysitting that required rapid exits (no fires or whackos, thank god) and I had more than one child to corral. Unless you have a plan and make sure the kid understands they need to move when you say it, or you'll frogmarch them out of there, your job becomes 1000 times harder. Fortunately, back then I had a long reach and a healthy motivation to herd children where I needed them to go.
