    Default 1911 aficionados-Stan Chen

I've admired his metal work and attention to detail for some time. Being a machinist myself and working with tolerances of .0001" and how difficult it can be to get consistent surface finishes, Stan's work is truly art. One day I hope to be lucky enough to hold one of his pistols or get one of my frames checkered by him.

Wow! Did it say he's in Durango? I didn't read the whole thing, but the pistol was rollmarked "Durango, CO".

Sure thing! He is local and indeed in Durango. I called the shop once inquiring about sending my frame
in, but Stan was busy with SHOT show stuff so I spoke to an employee at ASYM ammo. Super nice guy and even he said Stan's guns are second to none. One day...One day....

I saw the mag at the grocery, read the article there. Been a looong time 1911 guy, Baer mostly, and that pistol looks amazing. I have a Bulman holster I ordered from Stan-made to his specs. Love it. That's just one more item I'd get if I hit the lottery lol.
