    Have be you tried moving the router around in the area it sits? Moving it a foot can make a drastic difference in the broadcast.
    There isn't too much of a difference if I am sitting next to it, out on the couch, or on the back patio.

    I can get the full 5mb up, it's just my download speed that is being Choked.

    I scored a free D-link but it's not on the list so I can't get DD-WRT onto it.
