One of my friends just got off the phone with his 20 year old son. The son just got back from spending a year in China on a religious misson, came home to Lakewood for a couple of weeks, drove to Minnesota to see family. Driving back through Nebraska spots a trooper following him, keeps on driving normal. Trooper pulls in front then slows down, his son passes him, gets lit up. Told he's being stopped for tailgating. Claims that's probable cause to search the vehicle. Places friend's son in back of the patrol unit-not cuffed-and spends 30 minutes looking through the car. Doesn't find anything (no surprise to my friend), gives the ticket and sends the kid on his way. Of course it's interesting it happened coming back to Colorado and not driving the other way.
It's great having Colorado plates on a car when out of state lol. Of course we know there will be illegal trafficking but I'm only venting because you couldn't find a straighter laced kid if you tried.
