Does anybody here rebuild transmissions? I have a 98 tahoe 4x4 with a 4l60e that needs rebuilt. Reverse doesn't work and has a hard time shifting from first to second. Figured I'd check with a member here before taking it to a shop. Thanks.

Why would you rebuild the existing transmission when you can buy another one already rebuilt for less money? Then you can trade in your old one as a core and save even more money.
The 4l60e isn't the most difficult tranny to rebuild, finding a good tranny guy is. If your planning on keeping the rig and you don't want to try rebuilding yourself, I would order up a well built one from b&m or summit. Pretty easy to swap in and will be built to last.
Either way you go, on a Tahoe I would put in a nice tranny cooler and gauge with the new one.
I bought this one from a junkyard and it lasted about 5 months. For the price I paid I'd say it's pretty good. I'd rather have this one rebuilt because I don't want to do the swap again on the floor. It was no fun even tho lpgasman did most all of the work.

A few years back, I had my tranny (not Bruce Jenner) rebuilt by a guy near Northglen. Guy's name is Gary, his # is 720.229.5847, assuming he's still in business. IIRC, his business was called, "A Good Little Transmission Shop". Worked out of an industrial park/garage. Really knew his stuff.
He did a great job for me.
Jasper will take your core and give you a reman for about 1800.00 with 3 year warranty.
