    Default Walther P22 (22LR)

I acquired a new Walther P22. The first time at the range the second round in each magazine would not feed. I called the factory and sent it back. Upon return the same problem continued. A second call revealed that the factory had no problems; they shot CCI Mini-Mags for their test. I found some CCI Mini-Mags and shot 60 rounds without a problem! Has anyone had a similar problem and were you able to find other brands of ammo that works in the pistol?

Not uncommon for 22 caliber pistols to be ammo picky. Sons SR 22 runs better with CCI mini-mags also.

I had the same issue. As if you have a choice of what ammo to shoot these days! CCI MiniMags will work, but are made of unobtanium. I cut off 3/8" or so from the recoil spring, and now all is well, I ordered, (and still have) a new recoil spring in case my cut/off coils plan didn't work.
So, cut about 3/8" or so from the recoil spring, and if it doesn't work, let me know, I've got a new spring in stock.
We're here to help each other, right?

Have had 3 of these and couldn't find any ammo they didn't like. The one I currently have cycles with everything from remington subsonic to Cci stingers. Even when I mix various types of ammo in the same mag.
Strange that it only happens on the second round. Maybe Gunner's on to something with the mag. Don't these only come with 1 mag now?
They do tend to get better after a few hundred rounds, so maybe a little break-in time will help.

Does it still happen on the second round if you down load the mag?

P22 hates anything Remington. It shoots everything else. I have their older one prior the mag upgrade and the newer model.. Same issue.

Thanks all! The issue is the same with my three mags. I'll shoot another couple hundred rounds and cut the spring back. I've found CCI Minis on ammoseek.com but 14 to 20 cents a round with shipping! I appreciate the advice!

Yes, anyway I load, cocked or uncocked, every time so far with Blazer HV, American Eagle HV and CCI standard. CCI minis do work. Thanks.
