Looking at the wreckage, it looks to me like more of a "unintended landing" than a "crash". This would explain the lack of fire. Lots of small planes have crash landings and don't burst into flames.Originally Posted by BPTactical
Not accurate to my understanding. I thought he was in a helicopter that crash landed in a riverbed a few years ago, but was not the PIC.

I don't know what his politics are like for guns, but he's definitely in favor of the freedoms provided by private aviation. He's been a great supporter and spokesperson for general aviation. The Aircraft Owner's & Pilot's Association (AOPA) is an advocate for private aviation and Mr. Ford has served as an AOPA spokesperson and advocate in meetings with the DC bureaucrats as well as appearing in promotional videos encouraging people to take up flying as a hobby.
Believe it or not, private aviation is under attack by our government in much the same way as gun ownership is. I don't know what the government's end game is, but it sure seems to me that it wants to squelch anything I personally deem as being entertaining or "fun".
IMHO, Mr. Ford is definitely one of the good guys.

Thank you. Harrison Ford loves aviation. He doesn't parade around like Travolta with his fake 4 stripes ( those are earned on shitty nights in bad weather with people in back). He spends thousands of his own dollars to promote and protect the GA industry. In my book he's solid. He just loves to fly.
