Pre-great crash of 2015 IIRC, there was a thread about a Tulsa reserve deputy, aged 73, who shoot and killed a suspect thinking he pulled his Tazer. He spoke with Matt Lauer and wow, what a terrible speaker. He even claims this could happen to anyone. How? I still don't understand how you mistake your firearm for a Tazer.

When you hit 73 get back to us. IMO he should have NEVER been allowed to wear a uniform.

Oh, man, that interview was painful. Obviously not adequately prepared. I can't imagine why the man (and his attorney) would agree to an interview on national television, especially given his impending prosecution.

When you hit 73 get back to us. IMO he should have NEVER been allowed to wear a uniform.

I wasn't saying it was all due to his age, although I don't know many 73 year olds who can keep up with the majority of the cops I work with (I would welcome any that can). But when I hit that age I hope to be retired and not called upon to chase down bad guys.

WTF was he thinking agreeing to an interview with Matt Lauer of all people? 2nd biggest mistake of his life.

But I do feel sorry for the guy. He made a terrible mistake and he obviously feels terrible about it. At least he's owning his actions.
