    Default New FEMA Campaign

Check this out. FEMA has a new "grassroots" campaign urging people to prepare. For the record I'm all for anyone encouraging other to prepare. The more the better. And yes, I agree that it's a major hypocrisy that one admin agency tells us to prepare while another says anyone who prepares is a potential domestic terrorist. That's another discussion altogether. However this campaign has two things that stick out to me, one worse than the other.

    1) It's agenda based. It wants people to prepare due to potential disasters due to climate change. Just another way to push that old story.

    2) And this one is a huge red flag to me, they want people to register on the FEMA website and RECORD their preparedness activities! Oh HELL NO. No freaking way I am going to record anything on a FEMA database.

I can understand FEMA's campaign to encourage preparedness, but why ask people to register and record their preps? I just can't imagine any legitimate reason to do that...

Emergency preparedness / food & supply storage PSA'a have been running on the college radio station (KCSU) for a year or so. It goes something liek . If you don't know what to have or need help go to www xxx for moroe info.

Interesting the .gov says one should have a 30 day supply of food, water etc. BUT.......... if you have more than 6 months they consider you a hoarder / potential sign of someone who harbors anti-government sentiment.

Simple, so they can confiscate in an "emergency"

I suppose their and our opinion of "legitimate" probably vary significantly.

I think it's a cultural step in the right direction. El Paso County has had great preparedness info on their website for a few years now.

And HELL NO, I would not register with them or tell them anything. F that!

Not necessarily an uncoordinated message at all. Beeho, DHS, and his administration have clearly marked preppers as enemies of the state. "Clinging to their guns and religion", potential terror threats include "returning veterans and those with more than a 7 day food supply". The FEMA approach is simply an "outreach" tactic to see who will out themselves. They will take whatever they get through that approach and just makes it slightly easier to track down the preps when the time comes. Some of the clueless will indeed sign up and disclose, but my guess is they will be either newbies or moderates/liberals who really do believe the .gov is here to help them.
