Also, I haven't torn it down yet but I like what they did with the striker safety plunger thingy. I'll see if I can find a picture online. If not, I'll take one when I tear it down.

Not a Glock guy, but for those in the know does Glock classify this as a Gen3, Gen4 or neither. Seems to have parts of both generations.

I'm not a Glock guy either but I trust them to work and I shoot them better than just about any other handgun. (Sorry, just justifying my purchase to myself.)

Anyhow, I would guess they aren't a "gen" anything. Maybe a first gen single stack? From what I can tell, it has more in common with the gen 4 models. Dual recoil spring, similar frame texture, large, reversible magazine release. I think the only thing they are missing is the interchangeable back straps. Which would seem a bit silly on such a small gun. The firing pin block (or striker safety plunger or whatever Glock calls it) is a new design I haven't seen on a Glock. I believe it was first used on the 42. It's an anti-rotational design. Kind of has a "V" shape to it where the trigger bar makes contact. Doesn't seem to have the "bump" as the trigger bar comes into contact with it. I bet we'll start seeing this design on all of the models soon.

Makes sense. I've had several people aske me to classify it as one or the other and tend to refer to it as a hybrid. But I like your description better....it isn't a "Gen" anything.

Think of it as the original Glock 17 when it first hit the market. It wasn't a gen anything. Then when they made improvements/modifications it became the gen 2. When they make noticeable improvements to the 43 it will be a gen 2.

    But who really knows.

I ordered a Blade-tech. I have several OWB ones for other handguns and really like them. Figured I had to order something so I'm hoping the IWB one I ordered will be decent too.

I ordered this one, but for the 43.

I'll probably end up getting a DeSantis "Inside heat" to try out as well. I have one for another handgun that I like but it seems like the leather might add more bulk than the plastic/Kydex stuff which is why I ordered the Blade-tech for now.
