I got a Taurus PT 145 (The PT 111's .45 ACP brother) back in 08. It was accurate and reliable if a bit punishing (.45 in a tiny frame) for me . I broke it while taking it down one day...pushed the levers and pulled the trigger in the wrong order I guess and turned it into a paperweight. I sent it in with the broken pieces of powdered metal that fell out and Taurus sent it back complete. I then traded it on a Springfield XD Sub Compact and my wife claimed that gun. The XD is a better gun. So is virtually every other major manufacturer's offering. I don't really have any interest in owning any other Taurus. It's not that they're bad, I just don't trust them if I can break one while trying to take it down.

I got my (ex)wife the PT-111 and it is a good reliable gun. She liked my Glock 19 better so I carried the Taurus for a year. Good budget gun
