I was goose hunting with a couple friends one morning when we spotted a fox about 100 yards away standing by an overgrown ditch line. He was checking out our decoy spread pretty intently so I grabbed a cottontail distress call (the only predator call I had in my bag at the time) and lit into it. As soon as he heard it he came into us at a dead run and pounced on one of our goose decoys about ten yards from our blind! He got quite the surprise when he realized it was a plastic decoy. When he figured it out he trotted back to the ditch line he came out of. My buddies and I laughed and figured that was the end of it. About an hour later a flock of snows flew over us, we folded two and sailed one to about 20 yards from where that fox had been. As soon as that goose hit the ground that fox was on him and dragged him into the weeds! I've shot more geese on a hunt but that one was one of the most memorable!
