The bookcliffs range in grand junction is pretty well isolated and I imagine if you set it up you could shoot a thousand yards there. I'll double check for you this week. It's been a while since I've been there
thats quite the drive for a day of shooting.
Make a weekend of it.

I believe there is steel on the far right side of the 1000 yard range, however, you should talk to MarkCO as I believe he is responsible for getting the steel put out there and there are some rules on how it is to be used and how it should not be used.
Oh sorry McKay. New to the forums so idk where everybody lives yet. I'm a WSer so I was just pointing out areas in my area.
Can't you put out your own steel/targets stone?

There is a silhouette range with lots of steel up all of the time at different ranges.
Most steel targets at 1000 yards are on the large size and can be quite heavy. As far as I know, you can set your own steel out there but this is a pretty large club range with several different ranges with different types of events scheduled most weekends.

Best place that I know of to shoot steel out to 1000 that is already set up is Pawnee Sportsmans Center
Every 100 yards from 400 to 1000 I believe
