One way to reseat that unit is some ashes. Use it as a lapping compound to clean up any wear spots between needle & seat. But first look at the needle, that rubberish part van be trashed. You also need compressed air, like Big E3 mentioned, those passages need to be free of any particulates.
When you replaced the carb - manifold gasket, was it put on correctly. Regarding the carb, if it had any whiteish residue in the bowl area, you'll end up replacing the unit. That "corrosion" is seen in the bowl area has probably worked it's way in to other areas. Did you remove the fuel mixture screw and clean it out.
