I haven't bought any actual guns at a gun show since the Crossroads show out at the hotel in Aurora...Most often, I see them at $retail++, and I can find better deals at the LGS, with a far lower "yayhoo factor"...

Yep. The gun shows around here are pretty lame. Not sure I?ve ever bought a firearm at a show in Colorado. Bought almost exclusively from the gun shows in Houston back in the 1990?s and hardly bought from actual gun stores back then. Those shows had great selections, lots of hard to find stuff, and fairly decent prices.

You can imagine my disappointment the first time I hit up one of the Denver shows.

I miss the good old days when gun shows were an event myself and several friends went to followed by a good lunch together and laughs. And usually at least one of us found a good deal that day.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

You can still do that, but the laughs are at the show and the good deals are at Denny's.

The shows they had at the Astro Hall (next to the Astrodome) were so big you almost had to go both days to see everything. Even the shows at the George R. Brown convention center were way better than the Tanner shows. There was a smaller show in Spring, Texas that I think they had once a month and I could always find cool stuff and great deals there.

The 90's shows were way better here too. Tons of ex-LEO wheelguns, cool military surplus, and fewer stupid laws.
