Lots of folks putting Magpul PRS on the RPR. I can't say which I prefer, mine's still unfired. No time to hit the range yet.

Yeah, I'm reading alot of that myself. A PRS is another $250 on top of a $1300 rifle already, so what other rifles are in the $1550 range?

At that price it is still pretty competitive and still on the cheap end in the long range world

It was months ago I bought some 105 Amax's to try in my wife's 243. Well I finally got some damn time to load them up get to the range. I also got to bring my wife along to shoot her gun for the first time. It was also her first time ever shooting a bolt gun.

We took a few minutes to set the gun up to her comfort. (I really really like the stock btw, it is quick and easy to adjust but locks up tight with no wobble or play.) Then we had a crash course in fundamentals and I had her dry fire a few times.

I've got a cheap Vortex 4-12 scope on it for now, and everything is bone stock except the TBAC suppressor. We talked about flinching, follow through and trigger control after a dozen or so rounds and it just clicked. The center of the target is Remington factory ammo I had, and that's when she said she noticed she was flinching and started really focusing on everything. Well, then she knocked it out of the park. She shot all four corners with the Amax's. I am extremely impressed with the rifle and more so with her. She loves the gun too and thinks it fits her perfectly.

It's only 1300 if you don't know how to shop

I picked up a RPR on Friday and took it out to the range on Sunday. Slapped a 3-15x scope on and ran 147 grain .308 through it. Not ideal but I was using the budget ammo to get on paper and just kept shooting it since I don't fully know what I'm doing with distance stuff yet. I was able to hit 12x12 plate at 600 yards a few times with it and was very close to hitting it more often than not. I'm very pleased with it.

Any long term reviews on these?

I really want one in .243 but it looks like the discontinued it in favor of 6mm Creedmoor.

I had a 6.5, excellent shooter, like it was on auto pilot. Just not ergonomically comfortable for me to shoot. I know where one is in 308 that may be coming up for sale. There's a few barrel makers now offering aftermarket ones you might consider. All you need is to determine how much you want to invest.
