I prefer warne maxima rings and bases. For single peice bases egw makes some nice stuff. In my experience steel rings have a much better hold than aluminum rings.

The XTR 34 are Steel... that's why they are so expensive (I tell myself.)

If you purchased a mill along with a lathe, you could make your own

All the xtr rings I have seen are aluminum, there might be a few specific models that are steel but most are aluminum.

It really depends on the type of bases you use in my dealings. You will most likely be good with medium.

This rifle has the integral mount. I suspected anyone running the Burris Xtr would all be using the same height?

go with the med height. That's what i ran on a gen 1 RPR.

You could always go over to hamblins to see what works. Then order on line, their prices are a tad high.

I looked at some mediums today. I think that’s my best choice. Now shopping for bearer deal.....

Hornady 6.5 140gr A-Max at Mile High is $26.99 per box or $260 per case vs. $29.99 per box of FGMM 175gr match. Or $32 for 178gr Hornady A-Max match. So the Creedmoor is cheaper. Mile High is in Erie, not a very far drive.

Barrels are a consumable item, and several companies have prefit barrels now.

I'm patiently waiting for Ruger to release a left hand version.
