I own 2 Samson evolution rails on my ar's so I might help, but it will require you to take off your optic. First, flip the rifle upside down and place flat on a leveled table. Losses the the Handgaurd retaining screws. Flatten out out Handgaurd and slowly retite the screws. For best results use adjustable clamps.

He could also use a carry handle to align and hold the rail to receiver, while tightening the hardware. I use one for all float tube installs.
