As some of you know I recently got my carry permit. While it looks like my Glock 43 is going to be my primary carry piece it never hurts to have options.
Wanting something small and light in 45 ACP I looked at my options and settled on the Springfield XDS. I won't lie, part of my decision was made when I saw they were doing a limited run in FDE.
Would the XDS be my choice if I could only have one handgun? No. Did I buy it with the intent of putting thousands of rounds through it? No.
I bought it because I wanted something small, thin, light weight and easy to conceal and chambered in 45 ACP.
The trigger isn't very good. It lacks a well defined break and feels rather spongy. Despite this, it is fairly easy to shoot well at reasonable distances.
For being so small it is really quite pleasant to shoot even though it is chambered in 45 ACP.
I only have 50 rounds through it so the jury is still out as far as how reliable it really is but I had no issues with it in those 50 rounds.
Anyhow, to give you an idea of just how small it is I thought I'd toss up a few pictures of it along side my 43.
