The guns are mostly all old CMP program guns and Remington isn't making them anymore, so there are no new ones, which helps with the mystique. GA Precision did some conversion(s) but they are rare. A repeater version of the X40 has been in the works for over 5 years(?), but has run into technical and business issues. It now seems that there is a clear path forward.

My 40X and dtros's converted 40X made it my gunsmith, Jonathon. He's looked everything over, compared Mike's drawings to dtros's bolt nose, extractor.....simple machining. He's looking at the cost of set up, building fixtures, tooling for the bolt nose... VS the cost of the parts kit. Mike told him last Friday he would let him know when the kits shipped/ETA.... No call from Mike. He contacted Mike yesterday, he says any day for the kits, who knows what that means. Jonathon started building a fixture yesterday to hold the action for the magwell cut/counter bore the bolt holding the extractor. He has to make one of those regardless. If he doesn't hear from Mike next week on the kits, he'll order the tooling he needs, write a program for his CNC, build a fixture for the bolt nose... modify my parts.

For those of you who know dtros, thank him for loaning out his 40x, big help!

No turning back now! Jonathon built a fixture to hold the action and cut out the mag well today. Mag fits nicely.

Mike Bush said the parts kits are on the way, stay tuned.

Oh man, looks good! Parts kit is on the way like in the mail or ??? I wish I would not have known about this conversion till it was a complete ready to go deal. My 40x was just fine, well ok anyway, till I heard about this repeater conversion and I realized how much better it would with it! Now it's kinda painful waiting and hoping on updates.

Giving up on waiting on the parts kits. Jonathon ordered the tooling yesterday to modify my bolt nose, extractor.... He's building a fixture to hold the bolt nose to machine on a CNC.

He knows the time it takes to set up and cut the magwel... Once he modifies the other parts, he'll have a price.

He also ordered a 22lr reamer/gauges....., same reamer/specs as the reamer Hoser had his 40X chambers cut with. Thanks for that info Hoser.
