I'm waiting on a stock myself.
Well my stock finally showed up, gonna have to do a little work on the mag release and bed it in, but I really liked my original wood stock but didn't like the ergonomics so I went with a Boyds. Now I need someone to chop down the barrel and thread it for me! Any suggestions, and don't say Bert, he's so busy with real work I can't even get him to give me a time to drop off my rifle to have the work done.

Got my rifle back from Jonathan Elrod in m AICS stock. New PTG bolt and replaced stock barrel with Benchmark 26 MTU barrel- yep, heavy. Knew I should go shorter, Hoser told me to go shorter, but between what I found in stock and keeping the original look, this is what I ended up with.
On my first visit to the range I and had some feeding issues. Luck would have it that the three mags I had taken were the three worst out of the ten I have. One would not feed the last round. When I looked closer, the follower wasn't standing as tall as the others, pulling down on the grips and letting the follower snap up didn't fix it. Stripped the mag, reassembled it and now it sits like the rest, haven't had a chance to re-test it. One mag labelled 'goofy' won't lock into the AICS. Will run the mags the next time I go to see if they behave better. Matt/Ravage88 has already offered to swap the mags.
On the range today, all the rest of mags fed fine, a few slicker/better than others, but all got the rounds in without any deformation to the bullets. I think some of how slick the feeding is depends on how the bearing section of the bullet is. Tight, short match chamber and a little 'crud' or ruffle in the back third of the bullet.
Jonathan had mentioned that it liked Lapua Center X, and he wasn't lying.
But it didn't like Eley Club or Target- Except for that first group with Eley Club right after shooting Lapua- maybe they need to use Lapua's wax formula....
Shot ten rounds of Center X and then shot some Midas+. While it likes Lapua Center X, it loved Midas +:
Ran out of time on the range, and the guy next to me was intermittently shooting his AR off the bench vibrating the crap out of my sight picture. The BSA 3-14 is an OK scope, but it isn't as clear as it could be and the shadow at 15x was an issue till I turned it down a bit. Going to put my Premier 3-15 on there for my next visit to try out some more ammos. I have a bunch of different Eley ammos. Just want to see, but the Lapua seems to shoot really well.
Already picking up some feedback about trigger control and putting pressure on the gun. Shot at BlueCore since it was raining, and I barely have any blood left from the mosquitoes at CRC the last time I went.
Jonathan Elrod did a great job and worked through some issues with the base gun with me. Always helpful and ready to talk, he made the conversion easy. Really pleased with it. Started scratching down how much I have in the gun, and decided that its worth a lot smiles, with out getting down to dollars. Plus it was spread out.

I'll stop buying black rifles when my wife stops buying black shoes.
Figured out what was the issue. The filet piece on the side opposite the ejction port had a tendency to float out and keep mags from locking in place. I think it was also keeping some mags from feeding right. Taking the edges of the filet and tweaking them makes it fit tight in the receiver and not move. Fixed the issues with the mags.

Shot my rifle at crci's praire dog match. Ran really well. Came in fourth. Missed some near ones and the 150 a couple times. This is the first time I've shot out that far and need to tune my dope up. Really interesting to shoot the rifle. With steel it is on or off, but I could tell that the gun was shooting tight. Where my CZ I never felt like I had tight control on the groups past 75 yards. With the 40x I felt much more in control, I just need to tune up my dope on paper.

Mine is finally off to Johnathan for the conversion. Probably going to see it late December.
So what's the failure rate of the magazines? Has everyone been able to fix the ones that don't feed, or are they a lost cause? I'm trying to figure out how many to buy. I'd like to have 5 functional.

My mags are all good. I had one or two that were iffy but I cleaned up the follower a touch and they are good now.
