Or just move to any other city/county nearby and go into work like anyone else.
Denver's the only place I think where anyone even begins to worry about the law.

Wow, Thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind when relocating and find a place, any recommendations?
If your lifestyle/work allow, and you're a "gun nut", Idaho > Utah > Texas > Colorado.
I put TX third only because it will either turn blue or secede. that and it's too damn hot in the summer.

That's cheap!! Zillow just declared the Denver area "Unaffordable".
http://kdvr.com/2015/08/13/rent-mort...-unaffordable/
"DENVER -- Buying a home or renting in Denver has gotten so expensive, it's being termed "unaffordable" to live in by real estate company Zillow.Denver joins four California markets -- Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose and San Diego -- that fall under the "unaffordable" category for renters and buyers after second-quarter analysis by Zillow.
Zillow estimated it takes 35 percent of a person's monthly income to afford rent in Denver; the national average is 24.4 percent. It takes 21 percent of monthly income to pay a mortgage in Denver, above the national average of 15.1 percent.
“Our research found that unaffordable rents are making it hard for people to save for a down payment and retirement, and that people whose rent is unaffordable are more likely to skip out on their own health care,” Zillow chief economist Svenja Gudell said in a statement."
I don't want to discourage the OP too much, but this^^^ (would be Utah for me). I cannot wait for the day I can get the heck outta dodge! I'm a Colorado native, but have only lived in the metro area for a decade now, and hate what it has become. Everything from the politics, to the traffic, to the cost of living (including MV registration and associated crap) have all made me want out of here. Fortunately my new gig pretty much opens up the whole US for me.
Back on topic.... OP, we could certainly use more gun folks around here, but the truth is, we are fighting a battle right now, as it pertains to "shooting spots". The forests to the west of the metro area, are not the same as they were when I moved here ten years ago. In past years, I had a couple spots I could go to less than an hour from Denver, rarely were they occupied (even on the weekend), and there was rarely evidence of shooting. Those same spots today are always occupied, even during the week (don't people work?), and the last few times I was out, I ended up carrying out a bunch of trash, to include a flat screen TV, and several trees had literally been shot down. Because of this lack of responsibility, there are talks of closing shooting in all but designated locations. Just something to keep in mind, as far as your "where to shoot" question is concerned.

Don't let everyone scare you off. I was curious so I ran the numbers. My mortgage is 18% of my net income. There's also plenty of places to shoot if you don't mind paying a few bucks. I would recommend staying out of Denver itself and living in one of the many cities that make up the area.
Oh, and nobody mentioned it yet but Colorado has some of the best weather in the country.
Way too many liberal, tree hugging, hippie potheads for my taste but I seem to deal with it OK.
