A 1k range that any yokel can use? Only one I know of is the NRA's Whittington Center down by Raton NM. I'd be kinda wary about a 1k range for public use that wasn't monitored, you're liable to get incoming rounds while you're downrange.

My club keeps making noises about putting one in, but the big $$$$$$ estimates shoot it down.
