A guy from Aurora got shot in the chest and died. It was reported as an accident. He was there shooting with some friends when one of them accidentally shot him. Seems it happened when they were unloading their rifles.

Wow, so a bunch of morons from Denver prove natural selection works and the rest of the public loses a low-cost facility? Don't get me wrong, I didn't feel comfortable shooting there because of the conditions I saw so I took out memberships at a couple ranges where I COULD feel safe but not everyone has the money or ability to do what I did. The poor have just as much right to practice shooting as the more well-to-do ...
I think it was the weekend after the shooting that I went to the south site. Just wanted to go for a drive in the Trans Am. Took the 38 super with me and only went to the short range on the right.
I did notice all the trash including a TV but since I had the TA I was only able to take 3 plastic grocery bags back with me. I do reload and 38 super is not something ya just pick up at wally world so I do like my brass back.
After filling 2 bags with shotgun shells the last bag I had went for my 38 super and the 40sw,9mm and 45acp I picked up. I guess next time I go I will take the dodge diesel and load it up.
I see you running, tell me what your running from
Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.
as of last week it was very clean...I am going this Wed. so I'll post a range report.

Went today for about 4 hours. It was very clean. I only picked up a grocery bag of small trash like hulls n' wads, a couple of milk jugs off in the grass, and a shot up cloth covered particle board speakerbox.
No one else was at either of the 2 berms. There were a couple of pickups that headed off up 343 and I heard them shooting rifles. They didn't shoot much and didn't stay long.
I managed to measure off 300yds this time and had a blast with my new M14.

That's good to hear RR. Thanks for the update.
I'm looking at the overhead imagery from Google and I'm not really seeing any '343'? I see a range that seems about 100 yards long, orientated just west of straight north about 200 yards from 67.
I'd like to get my new JP and ACOG out and stretch its legs. Where can you shoot three hundred yards?
I'll stop buying black rifles when my wife stops buying black shoes.
repost:And since it was so desolate I went and shot at 200 and then 250 yds. btw the sign for 343 that is just up the fork where the road goes off over the hill, is almost exactly 250 yds. to the berm farthest from the highway. You can't shoot from the sign if there is anyone else around.'d like to get my new JP and ACOG out and stretch its legs. Where can you shoot three hundred yards?
if you go up 343 to just past the "y" it is 300 yds. Repeat Repeat repeat that you can't shoot from there if there are any other people around as you are shooting across the road loop.
have fun.
