MichiganMilitia: I sent you back a pm but i guess I am too late. Hope ya found it ok.
RR
RR, I found it alright, and it was very clean. Only a few hulls on the ground and a bunch of .22 cases. No trash. It cleared up a little right as I got there and I was able to do about half of my barrel break-in, but then it started pouring for the next 3 hours and I tried to shoot as much as I could, but I ended up soaked. Not a very fun day.
hahahahaha it WAS pretty awesome to shoot my new AR for the first time!![]()
It just really sucked that it POURED the whole time. I wasn't able to even shoot a group on target because of the rain and I found out that my scope mount isn't high enough for my scope... that jerk lied to me. I finally stuck my HOLOsight on and shot a little, but I couldn't get it perfectly zeroed in. It was just raining too hard. I really wanted to shoot my .30-30 a little too, but the weather was just too foreboding. And yes. my clothes are STILL wet even though I hung them up.
Maybe next weekend...
It was too wet and windy at my house to even try to go yesterday.
Glad you had a good time.
I will try again next month.
Glad you had a good time and a little extra care in oiling and cleaning the weapons and it'll be all good. I have a shelter for such inclement weather as I try not to let much stand in the way of my marksmanship.
RR, (or anyone else)
What special precautions should I take after shooting in the rain or other particularly wet weather?
Someone shot up a laptop and plastic water bottles and left it all at the first site (the one nearest 67). I don't expect that it was anyone here.
Just keep vigilant and keep policing the sites so they don't get trashy.
