My favorite thing in the house we just bought was that the hallway ceiling fan upstairs has a remote we didn't know about at first. It has a main power switch in the hallway, pull chains for both fan and lights, and the remote to control them. Apparently when the previous owners vacated they left the fan on and the lights off by the remote and this feature overrides the pull chains. So even when we pulled the chains the lights wouldn't turn on. We finally found the remote in a cabinet in the garage when I was putting some tools away and I noticed the remote had the same name as the fan.

There's power to the light kit

It's an on/off switch, no dimmer.

Did the lights have power when you checked? What kind of bulbs did you put it? Mine has a setting for cfl and then regular lights. Something to do with voltage going to them

No remote, the lights don't get power.

I haven't done this but it seems to be beyond what I'm comfortable with.

Yeah, I replaced the pull chain in the light kit with no change.

If I'm going to through the trouble of pulling the fan out to check the wiring in the ceiling then I'm just going to replace the whole thing.

Fixed it. One of the socket hot wires had come loose from the crimp when I pulled the wiring loose to replace the switch. I got that wired back in the with the other two power wires and the switch and we're back in business.

Dang...just what I was going to mention was most likely wrong with it! J/k

good job getting it fixed. When I get home I'm hoping my dishwasher is that simple, no power at all to the panel this morning.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

    My Feedback
