I got to shoot a xlr evolution and really liked it but it felt a little heavy to carry hunting the chassis system would be for bench shooting I want to learn long range shooting I it will be a while before I buy a chassis system I would rather spend that money on ammo and practice first

Also might want to wait to see if Magpul ever gets their 700 stock in the hands of consumers, it might be an inexpensive, but quality alternative.

I am considering that as a cheaper alternative until my wife gets over the 700 I just got and I'm getting my oldest her first rifle for her birthday so I might not be able to spend 800 on the xlr chassis with out causing world war 3 not to distract from the original post but I spoke to magpul trying to find out when the bottom metal is being released the rep I was speaking to told me magpul is working on a precision rifle chassis similar to the hunter stock but said it looks a lot like the xmod chassis with the prs stock if they ever release it or if it is even truly in the works

XLR Element would be a good option, light weight, all the good parts of the Evolution except the full shroud handgaurd, but at a Really decent price point. ($565)

They are literally less than 1 lb heavier than the average B&C and the versatility is limitless, ie you can easily do both with one system.

I have looked at the element chassis for some reason I like it with the shroud might just be because I'm fimillar with ar15s I really should give it a shot one of the things that is pushing me twords getting an xlr chassis is they are made in Colorado
